01 What the label represents
More than a sticker on an enclosure
Our process goes beyond placing a label on an enclosure: we review components, protection, wiring, grounding, enclosure suitability, markings, and required manufacturing records as they apply to the panel.
That review is the part of a UL 508A build that a customer never sees directly, but it is the part that determines whether the panel passes inspection, matches the drawings, and behaves the way the design intended once it is energized in the field.

02 Review & quality process
What we check, as it applies to your panel
Not every item applies to every panel. These are the checks that make up a UL 508A build in our shop.
- Component suitability
- Verification that components are suitable for the application and carry the UL status the panel requires.
- Short-circuit current rating
- SCCR review for the assembly, so the panel is rated for the fault current available where it will be installed.
- Overcurrent protection
- Review of protective device selection, ratings, and coordination within the panel.
- Conductor sizing & wiring methods
- Conductor sizing, insulation, routing, and wiring-method checks against the requirements that apply.
- Grounding & bonding
- Grounding and bonding checks through the enclosure, backplate, and door-mounted equipment.
- Enclosure suitability
- Confirmation that the enclosure type and rating suit the installed environment.
- Markings & labels
- Required markings and labels applied and legible, including the panel nameplate.
- Torque & continuity verification
- Terminations torqued and verified, with continuity checked against the drawings.
- Records & traceability
- Serial-number assignment and retained manufacturing records for the panels we label.
03 In plain language
What SCCR means for your project
SCCR stands for short-circuit current rating. It is the maximum fault current a panel can safely handle at its supply terminals without becoming a hazard. Every installation has a certain amount of fault current available at the point where the panel connects, and the panel has to be rated at or above that number.
Practically, this means the SCCR is decided by the components you specify and how they are protected — not by the enclosure. If a BOM contains a device that drags the assembly rating below what the site needs, it is much cheaper to find that during quoting than during startup. That review is part of how we quote a UL 508A panel.
If you know the available fault current at the installation, send it with your drawings. If you do not, tell us and we will flag it as an item to confirm.

We can review customer-supplied panels and enclosures for UL listing. Whether a label can be applied depends on the enclosure, the components installed, and the wiring methods used — so we look at the panel and the documentation before we commit to an outcome.
